MATCH PREVIEW #7: Plenty of streaks on the line this weekend

ATTACHMENT
A single point is all that seperates Union S.C. and Montgomery County from the top spot when they face-off against each other this weekend. Both teams are riding streaks as Southern Cal is unbeaten in 6 games, and the Monarchs are unbeaten in 5 games.
Close behind these two in the standings is the Gunners, who will try for a third straight win when they go up against Gaithersburg City. On paper there is almost a three and a half point difference in scoring average between these two teams.
Its a far different story in the match-up between D.C. Forever and Garden State as these two teams will play both having identical "2.83" averages.
Also this weekend Gateway Utd. and Motor City will try to end their 2-game losing streaks.

A league first as both teams see potential upside

The first ever BIGTIME league trade was completed with first place Union S.C. shipping Fredy Ljundberg to Gateway Utd. for Eduardo Lillingston. Both players have massive upside potential but have yet to really show it in the boxscore.

While the Saints have yet to determine its new line-up order, Union S.C. is also announcing the release of P.Ricchetti in order to sign D.Dicchio. The following line-up order is for game 7: B.Ching, C.Mathis, E.Lillingston, K.Beckerman, D.Dichio, C.Klein, A.Harris, K.Kamara, N.Rimando(GK). SUBS- K.Mansally, K.Dube.

POWER RANKINGS: Week 6

ATTACHMENT
Even though Montgomery County had its 4 game winning streak snapped, the team maintains its spot as most wanted.
Several teams in the league had a great weekend, but no one did better than Capital District. The teams 6 points took the weeks top honors and gives it back to back games with 6 points scored.
Its been a real roller coaster ride for the Gunners so far.
Games 1&2: 10 points combined offense.
Games 3&4: 2 points combined offense.
Games 5&6: 12 points combined offense.
Which team will show up for game 7?
The bottom of the league rankings remain pretty much untouched from last week.

GAME 6: Wild week leads to a few surprises

ATTACHMENT
There was no shortage of points this week as several teams got great preformances from their rosters. The feature match-up between Montgomery County and Garden State did not disappoint as neither team could hold onto a lead and they both had to settle for a point in the standings with a 4-4 tie.
As predicted in match preview #6, the game between D.C. Forever and Capital District did light up the scoreboard with 10 total points. Even though D.C. had four seperate contributors, it would not be enough against the Gunner's 5 contributors in the teams 6-4 victory.
Stop the presses!! Union S.C. had the break-out game it had been waiting for as all three of the teams recent additions from a few weeks ago scored giving Southern California its best win of the season and propelling the team back into first place with its 5-2 win over Motor City.
Last but not least was the awakening of Gaithersburg City. The league's last place team got its first win of the season defeating Gateway United 3-2 with the help of Quaranta's 2 assists. However G-City did waste newly acquired Pontius' goal and assist by leaving him on the bench. For Gateway, this is the second game in a row the team had a 2-1 lead slip away into a 3-2 loss leaving only heartbreak. It is just another reminder that unfortunately with every winner there must be someone who losses.

MATCH PREVIEW #6: Are there some upsets in the making?

ATTACHMENT
What will happen next? Its been an interesting first quarter to the season where almost any team can leap out and score an impressive victory. The game of the week goes to Garden State verses Montgomery "The Monarch's" County. Its a game where if the Kickers win, they can upset the balance of power. Another great match-up to pay attention to is between the C.D. Gunners and D.C. Forever. This has the potential to go back and forth as both teams will look to continue where they left off last week. Gateway Utd will try to keep Gaithersburg City winless and Motor City will try to end the Union's unbeaten streak.

POWER RANKINGS: Week 5

ATTACHMENT
Even though this marked the first week that Montgomery County did not finish in 2nd place in gameday scoring, the team still managed a come-from-behind victory. Therefore for the third week in a row Montgomery is sitting on top of the power rankings.
There were not a lot of changes in the ranks this week due to the competitive nature of the most recent gameday. The only significant gain was by the Gunners who redeemed themselves back into the contenders watch list .

GAME 5: Competitive weekend as most games go down to the wire

BOXSCORES
The fifth week of games provided plenty of suspense. 3 of the 4 games were decided by 1 point as team operators were forced to wait until the final minutes of the last Sunday game to find out their decisions.
The C.D. Gunners awoke from their slumber to post their best game since the opener. The teams 6-2 win over the Kickers was highlighted by having 5 players on the score sheet.
D.C. Forever took an early 2-0 lead over Motor City after Friday, but needed the help of its new Goal Keeper, Pat Onstad, to preserve the three points in the standings and win 4-3.
The league's top two offense's went head to head only to slug it out in a last minute nail-bitter. Montgomery County got 2 goals from Kenny Cooper on the last game of the week to overcome a 2-1 deficit and pull out a 3-2 victory over Gateway Utd.
Meanwhile the league's bottom 2 offense's did not disappoint. Union S.C. continues to live dangerously and rack up the points in the standings thanks to a 1-0 snoozer over Gaithersburg City. Brian Ching's first goal of the season was the difference.

MATCH PREVIEW #5: Several team could be in first place by games end.

ATTACHMENT
It may only be the 5th game of the season, but several teams have the potential of being on top of the league standings with a victory this weekend. The game of the week is Gateway Utd. vs Montgomery County. Both teams have winning records, good APG's and have played well so far this season.
Another great match-up this weekend is the game between the Kickers and the Gunners. while Garden State could actually leap frog everyone and move into first place if everything goes right, Capital District just needs to get back on track and maybe even get some production from its #1 draft pick.
Union S.C. will put its unbeaten streak on the line against 0-4 Gaithersburg City in a game where points could be at a premium.
Motor City looks to dublicate the success it had in its previous victory when it goes up against D.C. Forever who has gotten goals from Emilio but the middle of the line-up has not scored much.

POWER RANKINGS: Week 4

ATTACHMENT
For the second week in a row, Montgomery County S.C. is #1 in the power rankings. This team continues to be the most consistent in the league as far as scoring is concerned and since its opening day loss, has put together 3 straight wins.
Not all is bright and sunny news. Several teams in BIGTIME are having a hard time finding points on gameday. While some like Gaithersburg City and Union S.C. have been battling this problem since the beginning, other teams like Capital District have hit a dry spell recently. 20% of the season is done and the games will only get more interesting.

Game 4: Union S.C. still unbeaten, but out of first place

BOXSCORES
Coming into the weekend riding a couple of 2-1 victories and a 1-1 draw, Union S.C. made some major changes a bit unusual for a team in first place and unbeaten. Dropped from the line-up was Galindo, Nyassi and Jewsbury and added was Harris, Klein, and Mathis. This was supposed to help spark the offense, but instead all three new additions blanked. Then in a twist of irony, Jewsbury scored an assist for his new club who was on the other side of the boxscore.
While the game ended in a 2-2 tie and Union S.C. remains unbeaten, the draw knocked the team out of first place for the time being and still leaves the teams operator scatching his head as to how he can get some scorers on gameday.

POWER RANKINGS: Week 3

ATTACHMENT
There's a new number one in the power rankings. After the Gunners held the top spot for the first 2 weeks, the team hit a snag.
Meanwhile, the team that loves to be #2 in weekly scoring is now #2 in the standings as well. I am speaking about Montgomery County who seems to have avoided a let-down so far. Can this team maintain its level of consistency?
One of the keys to the teams success so far has been the excellent play of Kasey Keller. He has recorded a shutout in all three weeks. Another hero has been Omar Cummings who has also scored in all 3 games with 2 goals and 2 assists.
The rest of the team has contributed accordingly to help with the teams league leading scoring average.

GAME 3: A couple of hat tricks highlight the scoring

BOXSCORES
A new league high was set for highest score in a game when Gateway United ignited for 8 points. The team used 5 players including a gritty 3-goal performance from Conor Casey to overwhelm D.C. Forever to an 8-2 score.
However, that was not the only hat-trick this week. Garden State got its first win of the season thanks to 3-goals from Robbie Findley. The Kickers 4-1 victory was its first game to score more than 1 point.
For the third week in a row Montgomery County S.C. has finished 2nd in team scoring. In what is the teams most impressive game to date, Montgomery scored 7 points of its own with an impressive 6 players contributing and has increased its lead as the league's #1 offense with an APG of 5.0!!!Gaithersburg City's loss puts the team at 0-3-0 as it continues to seek some scoring punch. The teams lone point in game 3 was by Kevin Hartman, meaning its starters have been shut-out two games in a row.
The most competitive match of the week was more a game of who could score less. Capital District unable to perform as it had in the first two games of the season. The Gunners were shut down completely needing Busch's clean sheet to save the team from being blanked. Union S.C. once again has managed to talley some points in the standings despite the fact the team has severe flawls in its player production. BIGTIME's last unbeaten team is winning ugly.
