2016 Majors Cup Final

With all the action taking place in a 2 hour span, this years Final was as close to real time as you can get. The first scores came quick as Giles Barnes and Arturo Alvarez scored within 2 minutes of each other to give Gateway United a nice 2:0 lead. About 10 minutes later BWP connected for both sides with Aurelin Collin's assist pulling the Red Bulls closer. That was as close as New York would get, as Barnes added another just before half time.

In the 2nd half, Pedro Morales took over for the Saints with 2 more scores to widen the gap. The Red Bulls would counter with a goal from Alex Muyl and a brace from Robles, but the Saints offense was just too strong ending with an 89th minute Julio Baptista goal. Gateway United wins the club first Majors Cup Championship!

2016 Majors Cup Champions

For the 2nd time in league history a club has completed the treble, winning all three of the years league championships. Congratulations to Gateway United as the club has now picked up its 4th BSL sanctioned cup. It's been a heck of a year for the Saints who broke the record for best PPG, took the Founders Cup, and everything else there is to win. Gateway United also has just broken the record for longest unbeaten streak in 1 season at 12 games and has the chance to break the record for best unbeaten streak in continuous seasons in 2017. Is this the greatest BSL club ever or is the 2011 CD Gunners squad the greatest? Let the debate begin.

Preview: Majors Cup Final

The Saints are one win away from winning all 3 league trophies in 2016. The only club standing in the way is MLS' New York Red Bulls. Both clubs share Bradley Wright-Phillips, so its the rest of the players that will make the difference. Gateway United is currently on an 11 game unbeaten streak (tied for the record).

The Saints quest for the "trifecta" is another step closer as the BSL side made easy work of Sporting KC and advances to the clubs 2nd Majors Cup Final in club history.

The Gunners attempt at back to back Majors Cup titles has come to an end as the New York Red Bulls offense exploded this week. The Red Bulls advance to the clubs first Majors Cup Final and will try to become only the 2nd MLS side to win the title.

Preview: Majors Cup Semi-Finals

The Saints are trying to advance to the clubs first Majors Cup Final since 2009 and Sporting is trying to return to the Final since its appearance in 2013.

This is the 5th time in 8 years that the Gunners have made it to the Majors Cup Semi-Finals. It's a remarkable feat of how successful the club has been in qualifying for the tournament and advancing in it. In the 4 previous Semi's, the Gunners have gone 2 for 4 in advancing. This is the first time in 3 attempts that the Red Bulls have gotten out of the group stage.

Recap: Majors Cup Week 3

The Saints finished the 2016 Majors Cup group stage a perfect 3-0-0 to advance to the tournaments Semi-Finals for the first time since 2009. This match was a blowout with the BSL Champions scoring 5 times on Wednesday and then adding more on the weekend without any fight back from the Timbers.

The Gunners took the top seed in Group B and will play the NY Red Bulls next week in the Semi-Finals as the club continues it's quest to win back to back titles. Sporting KC already clinched and will play Gateway United in the other Semi-Final game.

A 1-2-0 record is going to advance to the Semi-Finals, but unfortunately for SC Canada, it's going to be the Red Bulls that get the chance after NY defeated the Mounties in week 3 and finished off the
