Offseason: This is When the Fun Begins

It won't be until after the RSVP deadline has been reached that the 2017 complete BSL schedule will be announced, but the 1st week of the regular season will begin on March 3rd. Besides the regular fixtures, there will once again be Majors Cup Qualifiers mixed in between the weekly matches and 3 rounds of Playoffs to conclude the season. The 4 MLS clubs that qualified for the 2017 Majors Cup are Toronto FC, FC Dallas, Seattle Sounders, NY Red Bulls.

Offseason: Mark Your Calendar

The 9th BSL Draft will once again follow the standard rules from years past. See the "rules tab" if you are new or forgot the process. The standard time frame of the draft has been 4 to 5 days in years past. If you are going to be unavailable you are encouraged to send a list of prospective players you desire to the Commissioner to help speed up the process. The draft runs through weekends as well.

Offseason: Who to Build Around?

The BSL has announced changes to the Retention Player rule. The requirement to sign an eligible transacted player on a roster has been lowered from 8 weeks to 4 weeks in 2017. Once again each club may sign up to 3 Designated Players and protect a maximum of 4 players before the draft. Any roster slots unannounced by the deadline will be forfeited.

Offseason: Ready for More?

The Bigtime Soccer League (BSL) will be returning for its 9th season. Club owners who are interested in continuing their participation will need to inform the league by its deadline. Like previous years, returning clubs enjoy the perks of carrying over their existing ACQ monies, and 2016 player rosters. These players are yours to trade, or protect, up to the 2017 Draft.
