Preview: Week 1

A new season begins this Friday! Gateway United will begin its title defenses in a rematch of last years BSL Cup Final against Cumberland A.C. Meanwhile, Pennsylvania will play its first match since the end of 2014 versus Union S.C. The other three matches are on display as well. Game on!

Final Day to Sign Pre-Draft Players is Tomorrow!

TUESDAY - February 21, is the final day for BSL clubs to sign and secure their pre-draft rosters. After 5pm (PT) unsigned players will no longer be owned by their BSL clubs and the remaining players will be free agents once again for the draft and beyond. The ROSTERS tab will be reset after this deadline to include only 2017 signed players.

2017 Draft Begins in 1 Week!

In 7 days the 9th BSL draft will begin. Have you made your mock lists? Be sure to keep an eye on your email during this time as your 2 hour clock begins when the email is sent. The league website will be updated each night with the transactions of the draft, but group emails of the draft progress will be sent during the day to offer player picks insight during work hours. Each days draft hours are from 7am(PT) to 7pm(PT).

2017 Schedule Released!

The BSL announced today its complete schedule for all 10 clubs in 2017. The league will once again play 18 regular season matches and each club will once again participate in 4 Majors Cup qualifiers in between those fixtures. The BSL playoffs (3 rounds) will begin shortly after, and then the 2017 Majors Cup will commence to close out the year. A rematch of the 2016 BSL Cup Final between Gateway United and Cumberland A.C. will open the season in week 1.

Stoners Recommence for a 5th Season

The partnership of Mike and Javi are back. The owners of the Pennsylvania Stoners participated in the BSL from 2011-2014 before going on hiatus. During those 4 years, the club amassed a record of 33 wins 43 losses 10 ties. The Stoners best season was 2012 when the club participated in both the BSL Playoffs and the Majors Cup and advanced as the eventual runner-up in both championship finals. There is no prior ACQ money to transfer over to the Stoners, since that was not around in 2014. The club will receive standard expansion club starting money (see budgets).

Trades, Transfers, and Player Signings

The Month of February is here and that is when the offseason movement really heats up. Several BSL clubs have been wheeling and dealing leaving nothing to chance before the deadline of Wednesday, February 22nd at 10am PST. Once that deadline has passed no offseason maneuvers can be made. The 2017 Player Draft will begin the very next morning 2/23 at 7am PST with Spartans 1612 owning the #1 pick overall in the 1st round.

To date there have been 6 various trades, and 2 straight up DP slot purchases this offseason. A total of 14 Designated Players, 7 Retention Players, and 5 Re-Entry Players have been signed for 2017 so far.
