Alamo City and Hawaii Clinch Advancement

Alamo City overcame an early deficit and a Blanco red card, then broke a late 5-5 deadlock when a Joevin Jones brace sealed the dramatic victory. Alamo City improved to 3-0-0 in the MC Qualifiers and has clinched advancement into the tournament. It will be the clubs 4th time in the Majors Cup and first time since 2013. The result ends Capital District league record 14 match unbeaten run. Meanwhile, Hawaii remained perfect at 3-0-0 in the MCQ to also clinch advancement into the tournament. It will be the Islanders 2nd trip to the tournament having also qualified last season. SC Canada got 4 scores from David Accam to lead the Mounties to victory and into 4th place in the MCQ table. Gateway United stayed alive winning over the Spartans. Cumberland stayed alive as well defeating Pennsylvania.

Saints Win 90th in Style

Gateway United erupted from the International break with a 9 point match versus Union S.C. including a hat trick from Piatti. The win is the Saints 90th regular season win all-time. SC Canada moved back into 6th place defeating the Spartans over the weekend. The Mounties are only 2 scores behind for 5th place. Capital District finished with a 3rd straight draw to extend the clubs record unbeaten streak to 14 matches. Hawaii also extended its unbeaten streak to 6 matches, but the draws are hindering the Islanders more than it effects the Gunners at this point. Gold Coast and Cumberland played to a 1-1 duel. Alamo City moved up to 3rd place in the BSL standings with another win.

Gunners Break Another Record

Alamo City won a 3rd straight league match and 4th straight match overall defeating Union S.C. 6-5 and moving up to 4th place in the BSL standings. Hawaii extended its unbeaten streak to 4 games (2-0-2) after defeating Cumberland 5-3. For the 2nd straight week Capital District needed a late comeback to salvage a tie. This time it was against Empire Cup rival Spartans in an 8-8 barnstorm. Capital District now has the BSL record for longest unbeaten streak at 13 matches. Gateway United got its 6th win in the standings and is now in 2nd place again. The Stoners edged out SC Canada.
