With news that the 2019 MLS schedule will have more mid-week matches and therefore more multi-scoring opportunities for players on BSL match weeks, there is reason to believe that league scoring will increase as well. Taking a look at the leagues overall PPG, the average points has increased overall already. 2018 saw the highest PPG league average all-time. Why? Well diving into the numbers all the clubs played out the entire schedule. In previous seasons, (especially in the early years) some clubs would bail out and post zero's for several weeks. As the BSL matured, less and less clubs bail out before a season concludes. 2018 also benefited for having a smaller amount of active clubs, and therefore the rosters were deeper than ever before.
