Old Guard Featured in 2019 Playoffs

All four clubs in this years playoffs were established in 2009 making for some fantastic storylines.

Alamo City vs Gateway United
These two clubs first postseason match was in the playoffs semi-finals of 2009 with Alamo City winning and then going to win the 2009 BSL Cup. It was 8 years later that these two finally meet each other again in the playoffs, and it was Gateway United winning and then going on to win the 2017 BSL Cup. The very next year was a rematch in the Semi-Finals, where the Saints won the match and later won the 2018 BSL Cup. So, this is the 3rd straight year these rivals are meeting in the Semi-Finals and 4th time overall. The winners have historically gone on to win the Final. One last stat. All 4 previous playoff match-up's were decided by 1 point. Will we have another nail-bitter this year?

Capital District vs Angel Town
Believe it or not, in the 11 years of the BSL, these two clubs have never played a playoff match against each other until now.  Both clubs are hungry for another BSL Cup as its been a while for both.  While the Gunners trophy shelf is filled with 9 awards, only 1 is a BSL Cup from 2011. Meanwhile, Angel Town is looking to break a decade long drought with the club having won no hardware since its 2010 BSL Cup. The trophy case is looking for company.
