Atlanta United had everything set for their Majors Cup debut. A crowd of over 72,000 fans on their home pitch cheering them on, and a national T.V. spotlight on FOX, so the pressure was on the club to represent MLS. So what happened? Atlanta scored twice on own goals and then got a third on a PK. Escobar did get a defensive shot on goal, and Guzan managed a clean sheet, but the expectation was for Atlanta to score more than 3 points.  That left the door wide open for Gateway United to take advantage, and the club did just that. Kei Kamara lead the way with a hat trick, and Lodeiro scored the game winner. Gateway United advances to play Angel Town in the Semi-Finals.
