The California Cup rivals are meeting up for the Majors Cup Championship. Angel Town has a chance to win the cup back to back seasons, and capture the clubs 3rd league trophy all-time. This will be Angel Town's 3rd Majors Cup Final having been runner-up in 2014 before winning in 2019. It's been an interesting ride for the Stars having such success since losing Vela and Heber to injury. The middle and bottom of the roster have really stepped up in their time gone, and the addition of Tinnerholm has proved a huge late signing since his addition. Angel Town missed the playoffs by 1 point, but have really validated the 2020 season with this post season run.
Gold Coast has had a heck of a 2020 season. The club played in the regular season finale in a head to head winner take all for the Honors Trophy and lost by 1 point having to settle as #2 in the regular season. In the playoffs the Suns advanced to the BSL Cup Final only to lose by 1 point having to settle as runner-up. Now, the Suns have advanced to the Majors Cup Final. Can the club take home a trophy in 2020, or will they win the runner-up treble for 2020. This is the 2nd Majors Cup final for Gold Coast having won in 2010.
