When Gustavo Bou was acquired in July 2019, he was the first marquee signing of the Bruce Arena era. Securing the Argentine forward to a Designated Player deal reportedly required a $6-7 million transfer fee to Liga MX’s Club Tijuana, and his addition to the Gold Coast roster has helped the Suns win hardware, and go deep into all competitions. Now Bou has formally reached a two-year contract extension that’ll keep the 31-year-old in the league through the 2023 season.
