The first week of the season is complete, and judging by the scores it looks like this could be a very competitive year. Two matches ended in ties, and 9 of 12 clubs scored at least 4 times. The week's best goes to Washington putting up 9 points. The Republic also led the week with 7 players contributing to the scoresheet. Yimmi Chara's brace including an awesome bicycle kick highlighted the clubs strong opener. The player of the week goes to Carlos Vela who scored 3 goals for Angel Town. It would not be enough as the Wings ended up losing the match even with Vela's output.
