The first BIGTIME draft will begin on March 9 via email and will last as long as it takes to complete. Each team operator will be notified that its their turn to pick by the commissioner and they are instructed to respond back with the players name and the MLS team he plays for.
The draft picks will be updated on the website for the whole league to see. In the next couple of weeks a random draft order will announced.
The draft order will be determined by a random computer selection. (Future draft orders will be determined by team W-L-T records of the previous year.)
The draft will consist of 11 rounds. Trades are allowed. Free agency can begin once the draft is completed and every team has a full squad.
The first game of the season begins Thursday 3/19 and will conclude Sunday 3/22.

ReplyDeleteI made the draft the 9th because we should know who draftable and who's not by then. I know once we have players on our rosters it will start to get more interesting for our competitive spirits.
Can't wait to look into the rearview mirror and see you suckers in 2nd place and worse =).
