WEEK 10: Five Clubs Are 2 Points Apart For 1st Place

GATEWAY UNITED 1 SECOND CITY 1- Two of the leagues better offenses and each club could only muster a single score. The result keeps the Saints in first place and the Stars close behind, but several other BSL clubs are now breathing down their necks. ALAMO CITY 2 UNION SC 1 - The Battle picked up the clubs 5th win in the last 6 games after narrowly defeating the Blues. The scoring started with Koko's goal, but Wondolowski would equalize. After Alhassan broke the deadlock, it looked as if the Blues would tie it up again until Nielsen's clean sheet was robbed in stoppage time. CAPITAL DISTRICT 2 BURUD TOWN 1 - Dane Richards early goal was the difference in this game as each clubs keepers found success with their own clean sheets. The win put the Gunners only 1 point from first place. ALLIANCE 3 PACIFIC NORTHWEST 0 - The Lions controlled the game from start to finish getting scores all weekend long including a header from Chad Barrett, an assist from Luke Rodgers and a clean sheet from Matt Pickens. Alliance may be still near the bottom of the standings at the current moment, but the club has picked up 7 points in the last 3 games and with Majors Cup qualifying starting soon, may soon be a consideration for a Majors Cup spot. PENNSYLVANIA 1 HILLCREST UNITED 0 - The Stoners wasted 3 goals from 3 players on the bench, but managed to avoid an embarrassing result thanks to Carlos Ruiz. His goal was the only one from the Stoners roster that actually counted.

  1. APG is looking like it could be the difference between someone making the playoffs and missing the playoffs if this keeps up til the end of the season. New guys, If the season ended today, SCSC would play Gateway and CDG ould play Gold Coast because of club APG which is the first tiebreaker.

  2. Actually I want to clarify. Wins is the first tiebreaker. Since all clubs on top have 6 wins currently, APG comes next.

  3. I was hoping for a tie between Gateway and Second City. Worked out great from me. Too bad CDG won. Would have been a perfect weekend.

  4. You know the old saying. Win your games and you have nothing to worry about. I should be the one scoreboard watching. Playing catch up will do that. Since you are on top Gold Coast, you control your own destiny. Of course you already know all this probably and I should just stop rambling on.

  5. As fantasy managers, do any of us actually control our own destiny?
