POWER RANKINGS: Week 11

The BSL Standings have gotten real tight, with many clubs seperated by only a point or two. The power rankings are reflecting that as well. Rose City is the new leader in the rankings. The Flyers are just winning plain and simple. Alamo City climbed back up to #4 after defeating a strong Stoners FC club.

Next week begins Majors Cup qualifying, so regardless of where your club sits in the BSL standings, its a fresh start.

  1. Drop Alejandro Moreno, pick up Steven Beitashour.

  2. Looking back at last weeks Box Score for my game...didnt Bill Hamid have a clean sheet in his Wednesday game? Shouldn't that round him up to a 1T average for the week?

  3. He did, but he played 2 games. So he did not average zero goals against in the match. A keeper that plays 2 games in the same week needs 2 clean sheets to get a clean sheet point. They have a better chance to average enough saves.

  4. I think thats fair enough, but fundamentally stupid. They should be treated on a game-by-game basis, the same as goals. He gave up 1 goal in 2 games/180 minutes, and received 0 points. I accept the ruling, but would like a league vote on how to address goalie clean sheets and saves in a multi-game week.

    1. This might be another way to see it. Say Edson Buddle scores 3 goals in 2 games. That 1.5 goals per game is 'favorably rounded up' to a 2T score for the week.

Technically, Bill Hamid allowed 1 goal in 2 games, for a 0.5 goals allowed per game. If that is 'favorably rounded up' (technically rounded down) than he has posted a single clean sheet, if you want to look at it that way.

    2. We voted on that idea 2 years ago and it was voted against by a majority if you remember.

The concensus as it gave too much power to the goal keeper with a real easy chance to score when he plays 2 games in a week, not to mention saves coming into the boxscore.

      we can vote again.
