  1. Rose City! Three games in a row with three points or more. And this one was really four but for my silliness.

Drop Bjorn Runstrom, pick up Martin Rivero.

  2. Scratch that. I checked the posted rosters and he wasn't listed but found him playing for the Gunners later.

  3. I had 3 this weekend ...

Kevin Hartman had a clean sheet.

    1. Hartman played twice. Did not have 2 clean sheets. Average is not zero.

    2. 1 divided by 2 = .5 which would be rounded up wouldn't it ?

    3. rounded up to 1 (not 0) so he had a 1 goals against.

  4. could you explain how you calculate goalie points over two games? I think there's more than one way to interpret it based on the rules. Is one clean sheet enough for a point or must a goalie maintain a clean sheet in both of his games ("average a clean sheet")? Likewise for the saves point?

    1. a goalie total saves for the week, divided by 2 must equal atleast 5 saves average.

    2. clean sheet average must = 0

  6. The email about the multi-game rule is correct, but we thought goalkeeping scores would be regarded the same way as field players.

Much like 1 goal over 2 games is enough for a point. I figured 1 clean sheet over 2 games would be good enough for a point. (2 clean sheets would still = 1 point FWIW) Instead, of averaging clean sheets completed, the rules are averaging goals allowed, which doesn't make sense to me. There should also be no worries about goalkeepers being too powerful, because with averaging goalkeepers can only score 1 point per week.

For the saves, I'd rather take them on a game by game basis then on a total. If my goalie had 6 saves in one game then 3 in the second, I'd view it as 1 5sv game and 1 non-5sv game, averaging to 1 point. Not 4.5 avg saves per game.

The current rules don't just restrain goalkeeper scoring in multi-game weeks. They severely handicap it.

  7. *SIGH*

We REALLY need to get the scoring straight in this league. A goalie gets absolutely screwed if he plays multiple games in a week. Not only does he have to have all clean sheets, but he can't even get credit for them all. He can only get 1. That is flat out wrong.

I made my position clear on the scoring for players with more than one game in a week. A player should get awarded what he scores, period.

  9. I don't have a problem with the average rule itself, I've been on both sides were it's helped me and cost me. My problem was I didn't understand the math behind it until recently.

Since a lot of owners see the average rule as unfair to keepers, why don't we vote on lifting it next year for goal keepers. While to me the average rule is ok for position players, I too think it severely handicaps a goal keepers potential to score for their team.
