2012 Semi Finals Preview

Both clubs struggled to close out the season. The Stoners went 0-3-1 the last 4 games after owning first place with a 12-2-4 record in the first 18 matches. The Battle are a streaky club. After starting the year 5-0-1, the club lost 4 in a row, only then to win a league record 7 straight. Currently the club has lost 2 in a row to close out the regular season. In the head to head games, Alamo City won both. In week 11 by a 4-2 score, and in week 20 by a 4-1 score. Both clubs are capable of scoring big and winning big. It's the post season and 2 straight wins could bring one of these clubs the BSL Cup.

ALL-TIME VERSUS: Tied 2-2-0.  SCORING HISTORY: Battle lead 13-11. PLAYOFF HISTORY: Battle 2-0 record. (4-2 win over Gateway in 2009 semi's, 3-0 over CD Gunners in 2009 BSL Cup).  Stoners 0-0 record. (no results).

The Saints averaged almost 2 more points a game over the Flyers, but both clubs won 13 games on the season. Honors Trophy Champions have a 1-2 record in winning the BSL Cup, so there are no guarantees. Rose City was very tough to beat this season and did not have a losing streak all year. That's right, the club did not lose two straight games this season. On the other side, Gateway United had a 4 game losing streak from weeks 6 to 10, but did start the year off strong at 4-1-1 and had the best second half of any club in 2012.  In the head to head games, Gateway United won both. In week 1 by a 3-1 score, and in week 14 by a 6-3 score. The winner of this Semi-Final will play for the BSL Cup.
