Pennsylvania, Orange County, Union SC, Rose City
Spartans 1612, Burud Town, Alliance FC.
The aftermath of a very compelling bidding war for Martins, has seen the window open up for the former Alamo City midfielder. With Patrice Bernier's waiver period complete, several BSL clubs have expressed interest in his services. The bidding on Bernier will conclude at 5pm (PDT) on Friday 3/15, meaning he will be available to play for his new club in week 3 if needed.

ReplyDeleteInterested in Mcinerney ... Judging by the timestamp that's the winning bid
ReplyDeleteBidding closed at 5:00pm(PDT)
ReplyDeleteWaiver on McInnerey began at 5:00pm as well.
FYI. Union SC will be part of the bidding on McInnerey.
That's lame, I'm on a slow Internet connection. 2 mins should be high bidder.
ReplyDeleteNot very happy - not every clock in the work is synced with blogger. Unfair.
ReplyDeleteI will go on record in saying I don't like it when bids are made at the closing bell.
ReplyDeleteThat said, there has to be an end time to these things or they'll go on forever.
As commish, obviously I cannot show favoritism. I have to just follow the layout as pre-determined.
I would suggest that you and Rose City can maybe work out something between each other. But, me taking it away from Rose City would mean the deadline is false and opens up a new can of worms.
If an arrangement is in fact made between you guys, let me know.
ReplyDeleteI really shouldn't say anything. It not my argument.
ReplyDeleteI think the ruling is correct, but of course I'm sure I'd feel different if my club was involved.
However, why not add a new rule. If "multiple bids are done in the last hour", it goes to "sudden death bidding."
Sudden death bidding would be sending our Commish a one shot "private email bid". You can offer anybody big or small but run the risk you offer is not as grand as the other sudden death bidders.
It could be cool if someone offers a lesser player than before and actually won.
Except this idea would take away from the bidding war itself. Look bidding is just like ebay. You have a window of time to offer what you are willing to pay for a player. Once that window closes the bidding is over. The only difference is blogger doesn't turn the comments off once its 5 o'clock. Bidding is supply...demand... and gambling.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in McInerney
ReplyDeleteI think the ruling is correct and the rule is fine as is. Gotta be vigilant in these bidding wars. Also, I'm interested in McInerney.
ReplyDeleteI'll throw my hat into the McInerney ring as well
