The Spartans jumped out to an early lead when Clint Dempsey and Stefan Frie put up scores on Saturday afternoon. Union SC would counter with a couple of scores of its own, but the Spartans were equal to the challenge and maintained the lead throughout the match. The win keeps the Spartans unbeaten all-time against the Union at 3-0-2 in 5 meetings.
