Recap l Group Stage 1

  1. Since SKC has no MLS fixture for MC week 2, I am making an exception and will be using their CCL result for their match against DCU in Majors Cup. While I am not thrilled with using a CCL match because sometimes its against a weaker competition and not totally fair in comparison I will be allowing it this time and review if a rule change for Majors Cup as a whole is needed going forward since the MLS teams that qualify for Majors Cup also qualify for CCL each year and sometimes have no MLS fixture during the tournament.

    1. Hmm. I'm not sure there's a better option but this feels bad. These sorts of CCL matches have a higher percentage chance of being a blowout one way or the other in addition to how potential roster changes factor into things. I'd love to see a better solution before kickoff but certainly support re-evaluation at the end of the season.

  2. Just now realized that SKC/Saprissa kicked off tonight. That didn't artificially move the date this week starts did it? I was going to post this evening or tomorrow morning?

    1. Due to the timing of the announcement, I don't think it should affect our deadline. Trying to remain objective as Dwyer scored last night and he's on my opponent Orange County, I don't think the SKC players should count for BSL sides unless you had a lineup out before the match kicked off.

    2. Perhaps I wasnt clear. This CCL for SKC is just for them. Not for BSL Clubs. No way ever will BSL clubs get credit for CCL or USOC matches. Just giving SKC credit against another MLS club in DCU for a Majors Cup match. Once again this is just for SKC. No BSL club will be credit for non MLS fixtures.

No changes to the lineup deadline. Skc has no affect on any BSL match. This just gives the Dcu/skc game some merit.

    4. Thanks for clearing that up. Wasn't sure what to do with Collin. Now it's obvious that he sits as I would have done otherwise.
