Recap: Majors Cup Week 2

The Gunners got a hat trick from David Villa on Friday to build a fast 3:0 lead over Hawaii and never relinquished the lead throughout. Diego Valeri also scored and Acosta had a 5th score taken away, but it would not be a factor in the end. The Islanders tried to counter with scores from Rimando and Royer. The result clinches a Semi-Final berth for Capital District, leaving next weeks match to determine the clubs seeding. Hawaii is mathematically eliminated from Majors Cup and will have to play its third match to gain the clubs first post season win in club history.

The win put's the Saints on top of Group A with a 2-0-0 record, but the club has not clinched a Semi-Final berth just yet. The Red Bulls have been eliminated.
