The 2nd leg of the California Cup came down to the wire as Josef Martinez had his best outing of the season for the Suns to turn a 5-3 deficit into a 5-5 tie very late in the match. However, Tim Melia might not be considered a hero to Sporting KC this weekend, but to Angel Town, his 5 saves inched out the game winner and the full 3 points for the Stars. The result gives Angel Town a 11-9 aggregate victory for the 2019 California Cup and extended the clubs current streak to 5 games unbeaten. It was a tough loss for Gold Coast as the club has fallen further behind in the playoff race. There were 6 cards in the match, but neither sub made an impact on the match.
