The Four Remaining Contenders

The BSL playoffs start Wednesday with #1 ranked Cardinals AFC vs #4 ranked CD Gunners. This will be the first ever playoff meeting between the two. All-time these clubs have played head to head twice in 2019 with the Gunners winning both leading the historical scoring 15-8. This is their first meeting in 2020.  In current form, the Cardinals finished the 2020 season off with 2 straight wins. The Gunners have lost 2 straight.
The other match has #2 ranked Gold Coast vs #3 ranked Gateway United.  This a rematch of the 2017 BSL Cup Final, where the Saints hold bragging rights on that. All-time these two clubs have played head to head 23 times, with the Saints holding the edge 13-3-7 , and outscoring 96-75 in those meetings. Interesting fun fact, 6 of their 7 ties were by a 4-4 scoreline.  These two did not play each other yet in 2020. In current form, the Suns are on a 2 game winless streak. The Saints lost their previous match.
