THE BIG STORY: Shelby came out of the gates with a huge (week best) 9 scores to easily earn the Cobras a win, and early 1st place in the league. Chicharito, Leal, and Maurer each had braces.
AROUND THE LEAGUE: Gold Coast got the clubs 90th regular season win all-time after defeating New West 8-5 with braces from Ruidiaz and Beric. Alamo City edged out Angel Town 2-1. Apollo got the clubs first BSL win over Capital District 2-1. Century had an impressive opener scoring 7 times including 2 scores from Zimmerman. Southland got 11 saves from Tyton to help the Wildcats secure a tie against Cardinal Valley for the clubs first point. Royal Oak got the season started right with a 4-1 victory having 4 different players hit the scoresheet.
Gateway United was set to join the new Euro Super League, but the application was denied being based in Missouri. Oh well.

DeleteOn a serious note. The stats issue has no easy fix. Right now official stats sites that count are MLS and (Yahoo Sports for goal keepers). Finding secondary assists has proven impossible for all 27 MLS clubs. Unless someone can find a solution before week 2 gameday, the scores will stand as is. (this is most fair since we are all playing on a level where no one got secondary assists from any MLS club).
