After winning a league record 16 games and obtaining 52 points in the regular season, the Battle could not get it done in the playoff semi-final match against the Stags, losing 5-4. So here is the rematch.

Burud Town will begin its BSL Cup Championship defense with a older roster of players than it had last season. For example, the Stags added veterans like Cahill, Beckerman, and DeRosario. Week one could also set the tone for Burud Town since last season was also the only year the Stags won its opening week match. Before that the club was 0-2-1 to start its seasons.
