Union SC came real close to making the playoffs in 2013, but ultimately had to settle for 5th place. The club did qualify for the Majors Cup, but was smacked around by the competition in the tournament losing twice by 9-2 scores in the first group stage matches. The Union is high on the prospects of several new players this season and feels this could be the year to win it all again. The club is 1-4-0 in week one matches all-time.
The Spartans were one of only 2 clubs to qualify for the playoffs and Majors Cup in 2013. Unfortunately, after winning 11 games in the regular season, the club went 0-3-1 in post season action. The Spartans more than any other BSL club last year benefited from defenders scoring and have picked up some veteran defenders this year as well to try and duplicate that success. The club has never lost to the Union in 4 meetings.
