Suns/Saints Wheeling and Dealing

The offseason just heated up! Last years BSL Cup finalist, Gold Coast FC, is no stranger to living heavy on the draft. Infact the club owner hardly ever keeps Designated Players and like last year will have multiple first round picks. Surprising the league office though, Gateway United has confirmed that a trade has been made. Going to the Saints will be David Beckham, Kenny Cooper and a DP slot. In return the Suns are obtaining Joel Lindpere and the Saints first round pick. Gateway United release Brian Mullan from its roster for space. The deadline for DP choices is 2/20. Each club can keep two players. Remaining players on existing rosters are eligible in the expansion pre-draft.

  5. The Blues are offering up a DP slot as well. Does not have to be a first rounder.

APG and MOV info will move to the STANDINGS tab.

  11. Cleaned up the writing on the rules tab.... here is the insert you all should be reading.....................

    RETURNING CLUBS PRE-DRAFT PERKS

    Designated Players
Returning BSL teams may keep 2 players from last years roster. These players will not be available in the draft. You DO NOT have to keep any DP's and can trade your slots away for more draft picks.

    Trading Designated Players
If a returning team does not want to keep anyone from their previous roster, the owner can trade it away to another BSL team for their draft pick or picks. If you obtain multiple picks in earlier rounds, your draft selections conclude once you've obtained a 14 man roster.

    Obtaining a 3rd DP
BSL owners can trade for another DP if a returning BSL owner is willing to trade one of their slots away. However, you are only allowed a maximum of 3 DP's. Even if you are offered both a BSL clubs DP slots, you can only trade for one of them. (Max 3 DP's)

    EXPANSION CLUB PRE-DRAFT OPTION
New BSL clubs need a chance to be competitive. New clubs can choose 1 unprotected player from LAST YEARS BSL rosters. This option is available after the Designated Player due date.

New clubs may also trade with existing BSL clubs to get 2 more players before the draft. (equals a maximum of 3 players before the draft) by giving up draft picks so they may pick up existing BSL roster players.

  12. First and foremost I'd want to do a straight DP for 1st round pick ...

BUT after thinking it over some ... I'd be willing to do one of the following as well:

    - Anyone in the top 5 of the draft order I'd trade my DP and 7th rounder for your 2nd and 4th round pick.

    - Anyone outside the top 5 I'd be willing to trade my DP and 8th rounder for your 2nd and 3rd round pick.

    1. I am nervous about giving up too many low draft picks. So I can't do it even though I want a 3rd dp. Any other offers. Like my 2nd round for your dp? I have offers to Btown too, but I need to get something complete soon.

  13. I'm looking at it on terms of value ... I've got a couple of individuals that are work keeping as my 2nd DP.

That 2nd round pick of yours is roughly the level of "value" that these guys are. The issue though, is that the DP is of more value to you than your 2nd round pick ... meaning, the guy you'd be keeping is "better" than that 2nd round pick I'd be getting.

A straight swap is essentially just me giving you a better player. I simply can't do that. That's why I put in the 4th rounder on top if it.
