Burud Town 4 Gold Coast 3

The Stags got just what the club could have hoped for in its first match. A win and production from the players it paid the most for when Designated Players Ferreira and Arrieta both put up assists. The biggest moment in this match came when Jackson benefited with a sloppy goal since the Suns were very much in this game the whole time. Gold Coast traded with Burud Town in the off season to get Higuain and then signed him on as a DP contract. His goal against his former BSL team had to on the mind of both owners. Davey Arnaud added in a 2nd score keeping the score close. It was Andy Gruenebaum's clean sheet that turned a 3-2 game into a 4-2 match that proved to be the game winner after Kyle Beckerman scored late for Gold Coast.
