This match got out of hand early. Within the first tally the Spartans had delivered with a goals and 2 assists from Zusi and another goal from Bieler. 6 Saves from Sean Johnson rounded out the scoring for New York. As for the Saints, the club tried to get back into the game, but wasted its first score sitting defender Brian Boswell on the bench. Later the Saints would end up releasing Boswell. Michael Farfan was active but failed to score. In the end Darlington Nagbe and Joao Plata would have scores that did count, but it would not be enough.
