Recap: Week 2

Wildmarys Own First Place in BSL!
Cumberland AC took early bragging rights from expansion counterpart SC Canada over the weekend to improve to 2-0-0 for first place in the league standings and is officially the only BSL club to be perfect after 2 weeks in the season. The Wildmarys got 2 assists from Michel for the man of the match. Meanwhile, Union SoCal was the weeks top scoring club after defeating Second City 7-4 thanks to 5 starters contributing to the scoresheet including a couple of braces from Wondolowski and Aristeguieta. Gateway United erupted late to break a 2-2 tie with the Spartans scoring 3 times on Sunday for the win. Gold Coast also broke a late 2-2 tie when Patrick Mullins scored the game winning goal and Nagbe added some insurance on Sunday as the Suns remained unbeaten after 2 weeks. Alamo City is 0-2-0 for the first time in the clubs 7 year history. Finally, the Gunners overcame a 3-1 deficit to win 5-3 over Burud Town including a brace from David Villa.

  1. The irony is that I was just explaining to someone that 4 points is usually sufficient to win a matchup...

  3. Well, it seems that I usually start like this so I'm not ready to write this year's team off just yet. I just always have to make it hard first.

  4. This is my third time trying to post a comment... Google sucks... OK: I am under no delusions that I will hold this form. I would have lost to 3 teams, drawn with 3 other teams. How lucky do I have to be to select a second keeper this past week, who is on an expansion team, and he gets a shutout. That ain't right. I was just hoping for 5 saves as he got shots rained upon his head. And, the viability of my defensive strategy (?) is suspect, no doubt.
