As predicted in the preview, the Semi-Final between Alamo City and Gateway United was close. The Saints jumped out to an early lead when Victor Vasquez scored first. Then both clubs traded punches between a couple of Kei Kamara goals and Mauro Diaz/Jesse Gonzalez scores. Katai widen the lead for Gateway by a 4-2 score, before Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a brace to tie it up 4-4. The game winner came when David Bingham brought home a point for the Saints at the closing whistle. Gateway United moves on to play Capital District in the 2018 BSL Cup Final.
MAN OF THE MATCH
The Saints got two very big goals from Kei Kamara on Saturday to keep the club level. He pressured the defense all match with 4 shots and 3 offside calls. Neither goal was the game winner, but without his brace Gateway United doesn't advance to a 3rd straight BSL Cup Final.
