The 2018 Playoff Semi-Final has the defending back to back BSL Champion - Gateway United versus Alamo City S.C. This is the Saints 7th time in 10 years to reach the playoffs and the club has a 5-4 record overall in those seasons. This is the Battles 6th time in 10 years to reach the playoffs and the club has a 2-4 record overall in those seasons. Historically, these two clubs have met only twice in the playoffs. In 2009 Alamo City won the Semi-Finals to eventually go on and win that BSL Cup. Last year (2017) Gateway United won in the Semi-Finals to go on and win that BSL Cup. This season these clubs tied each other 4-4 and 6-6 in each match they played each other, but this is the playoffs, so a winner will be determined to matter how long it takes.
