The "Game of the Week" features Union S.C. verses the C.D. Gunners. To give you a sense of the history that exist beween these two clubs we start with the facts. The Gunners of 2009 scored at will against everyone except the Blues. The Gunners of 2009 went 14-1-2 in the regular season against the other BSL teams and 1-2-0 against the Blues. In this, the first meeting between
the two in 2010, Union S.C. is now a contender and the Gunners appear to be back into their contention ways. It should be a battle where more than a few scores will be needed to claim victory.
A match-up that has been circled since the beginning of the season also will get underway. Its a huge surprise that this is not the game of the week. Gateway United has held a grudge over Montgomery County ever since the clubs 4-2 loss in the Semi-Final game of the BSL playoffs. The Saints have been playing better the last couple of games, but still need to garner points in the standings. Montgomery County has to find something to be positive about and this could be the game to do it. How better to boost up spirits than to defeat a familiar foe. The Monarchs might also have a grudge against the Saints. Before the playoffs even happened, Gateway United hammered the Monarchs 7-0 in a regular season game that almost knocked them out from even making the playoffs. This should be a heated game.
Can St. Louis be stopped? Burud Town will be next on the docket to challenge them. The Stags have lost some steam in the last couple of games after a great start and will need to regain that offense that it had. For the Cure its pretty simple. Give the ball to Buddle. Actually this club is more than just one man. A whole mix of players have scored for this club. Team depth does not seem to be this clubs concern at the moment.
New York will look to start a winning streak and Gold Coast will look to end their 2-game losing streak. Its really hard to predict just what will happen in this one. It could be a real down and dirty low scoring nail bitter, or it could be full of offensive storylines. This game could even be a blowout, but you'll have to guess which team goes off on a roll.
