The most competitive game of the openers was also the last to start its scoring. Deadlocked at 0-0 for a while, Capital District opened the scoring with Eddie Gaven's assist. A 1-0 lead at the close of Saturday. Then on Sunday, Pennsylvania burst at the seams with a bunch scores in a hurry. Robbie Keane had a goal and assist. Cudicini had a clean sheet and soon after Espindola added a goal. All of a sudden the Stoners had a 4-1 lead. Then quickly Valeri scores for the Gunners and then just as quick Espindola scored again. In a span of hours this 1-0 game became a 5-2 Stoners lead. It looked as if the game was in hand before Alvaro Saborio came through with 2 very late goals and Nick Rimando closed the week with a clean sheet. The 3 scores earned the Gunners a tie in what looked like a sure defeat.
